We won all 4 of Sunday’s match bets to give us a gain of 12.8% to date in May, but how did we do in April?
There were 47 Premier league matches in April and we had winning bets on 55.3% of them. This win percentage is exactly the same as our seasonal win percentage to date.
After a very positive start to the month, performance fell back and a yield of just 3.9% was achieved. This compares with a season to date yield of 11.4%. The return for the month was 8.5% and stands at 286.6% for the season to date.

Either Ancelotti has an unusual way of dealing with stressful situations or he knows his time is up. Saying you don’t have a problem being sacked is also taunting your employer to do just that. Perhaps he’s fed up with the Premier league and longs for the more familiar smells of strong espresso and cheap lambrusco.
Either way, West Brom must be loving it and quietly plotting how they can turn Ancelotti’s misfortune to their advantage as they host Chelsea at The Hawthorns. Not that they need the points, sitting comfortably in tenth place in the league, their goal difference of minus 13 belies their position. And that, no doubt, is why West Brom are priced at odds of just 5.8 for the win. Continued

We lost on both matches yesterday but does that mean the start of a downward trend? A bit too early to tell perhaps. And regardless, we’re still up on the weekend and look forward to another match tonight as Liverpool host Man City.
Newcastle could have done without selling Andy Carroll yesterday as they hardly broke Villa into a sweat. The sooner Joey Barton stops playing football, the better. Why give the captain’s armband to someone who is clearly unstable?
It should be an entertaining match given the value of the players on the pitch tonight but then that’s not always the way, is it. You’ll find tonight’s game on Sky Sports. Continued

We had an excellent result yesterday winning 6 out of a possible 7 match bets from the 7 games played. This took the betting fund to another new high and up 22.3% for the month, almost reaching £10,000.
Winning the final 3 match bets this week would be too much to ask. The historical monthly average return over the last 5 seasons for our fund is around 12% so, given the recent good form, I expect we’ll have to endure a run of losses at some point. Still, best to enjoy the good form while it lasts.
Today’s matches see Arsenal away at Blackpool and Villa home to Newcastle. Arsenal are the biggest favourites for a win today, priced at 1.49 on Betfair. Both matches are live on Sky Sports. Continued

Seven matches in the Premier League today starting with Wolves v Everton in the 12.45 kick-off. No evening game today but we do have Liverpool v Man City to look forward to on Monday.
Today’s most interesting tie is Chelsea at home to Wigan. Whilst Chelsea battle it out for a Champion’s League place, at the other end Wigan are propping up the table with 35 points. That’s not a bad tally and a win could, not just lift them off the bottom, but out of the relegation battle.
The market doesn’t give Wigan a hope however and prices Wigan at 18 to create an upset. Perhaps that’s in part due to the 8-0 corresponding result last season. Looking at that result, Wigan look expensive at 18!

With Man City beating Sunderland comprehensively and Fulham doing likewise with Blackpool, both of which we backed, today’s wins add to yesterday’s gains.
We had 6 winning match bets this weekend. Our biggest win came on backing the draw between Stoke and Chelsea and the biggest loss was Arsenal’s draw with Blackburn where we backed a home win.
This first weekend of the month has given us a gain of 6.7% on our betting fund.

It’s an important day for Roberto Mancini as he tries to convince himself he’ll not be looking for a new post next season if City don’t finish in the top 4.
His team can go a long way to avoid putting that to the test today by beating Sunderland and jumping above Chelsea into third spot.
Talking about his biggest star, the young but unpredictable, Balotelli, Mancini told the Sun newspaper, “Everyone at Manchester City has always helped him and wish him the best.” This makes Balotelli sound as if he’s ill or planning a long trip away. I’m not sure whether that was supposed to be a supportive comment or a public dig at his immature personality. Man City play Sunderland at the City of Manchester Stadium at 4pm, live on Sky Sports.
Today’s other match, also live on Sky Sports, kicks-off at 1.30pm at Craven Cottage as Fulham play host to Blackpool. Let’s hope the ref has a good game as I don’t look forward to seeing Holloway spitting feathers again in the post match interviews.

Arsenal sit 5 points behind Man U with a game in hand. An upset for Man U in the early kick-off today could give Arsenal the fillip they need to beat Blackburn in today’s late game and close the gap to two points giving them the upper hand as we hit the penultimate month of the 2010/11 season.
Man U face a tough task away at West Ham (live on Sky at 12.45pm). The Hammers should be feeling confident as they’ve won their last 2 home matches in the Premier League. Man U are priced at 1.87 but are without their first choice defence with O’Shea, Ferdinand and Rafael injured, Evans suspended and Vidic doubtful. With Fergie chewing his gum from the stands due to a touchline ban, will his team be able to keep the goals out? Last season saw West Ham comprehesively beaten in this fixture as Man U won 0-4.
Arsenal face an easier task on paper at home to Blackburn (live on ESPN at 5.30pm) and are hot favourites at 1.26 on Betfair. Arsenal are well placed to wallop a few past Blackburn with van Persie fit and the possible return of Fabregas. These two should bring out the best in Rosicky and Arshavin as well. Arsenal also won by 4 goals in the same fixture last season, hitting six past Blackburn in a 6-2 drubbing with Arshavin, van Persie and Fabregas all scoring.

It was a game that turned on one decision. Liverpool may not have deserved the penalty but after Dirk Kuyt converted they didn’t look back. Sunderland on the other hand just looked sorry for themselves. A Liverpool win earned us a 5% profit on our betting fund. In the other game, which sounded dismal, Chelsea sank Man City 2-0 despite Torres once again not registering on the score sheet. That game also netted us a profit of 2.3%.
With no matches left in March we have earned an excellent 46.2% outperforming last month’s gain of 43%. Whilst we can’t expect to makes these sort of gains every month it certainly feels good to be piling on the pounds. Subscribe here for our tips.

Chelsea take-on Man City at Stamford Bridge at 4pm today and a win would see them leap frog City into third. In the other game Sunderland host Liverpool. Whilst Liverpool have hit good form, the Black Cats on the other hand are the worst performing team bar one over their last 6 games. Sunderland’s last win at home was on New Year’s day against Blackburn, who are the worst performing team. Liverpool will be looking to take advantage of Spurs’ lack of execution in their game yesterday against West Ham.
Of course, the great thing about the Premier League is that anything can happen. We’re looking for lots of goals and end to end action which shouldn’t be too hard given the teams on show today. Subscribe to see our tips. Continued
